Yi He Appointed as Co-CEO of Binance

Yi He previously headed Binance’s marketing division. She has been considered one of the company’s most influential yet low-profile executives. While the former CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) became the public face of Binance during its rapid global ascent, Yi carved out a role behind the scenes and directed branding, strategy, and business expansion efforts. This helped solidify Binance’s dominance in the global cryptocurrency sector.

He was born in China in 1988 and has been widely regarded as a strategic force within the company. She is an innovator whose operational leadership complemented CZ’s high-visibility approach. Her promotion comes at a pivotal moment for Binance as the company is going through high-profile regulatory actions in the United States.

A Binance spokesperson said Yi’s news position will bolster Teng’s leadership as the exchange continues navigating the global regulatory landscape. Ten has been credited with bringing steadiness to Binance during a turbulent period marked by increasing oversight and enforcement actions.

Teng said about Yi’s appointment, “Yi has been an integral part of the executive leadership team since the launch of Binance. Her innovative and user-focused approach has been instrumental in shaping the company’s vision, culture, and bottom-up business strategy, This appointment is a natural progression and she will continue to guide the organization from strength to strength.”

He also added, “We remain dedicated to being the most trusted and regulated exchange in the world, always putting our users first. Yi plays a critical role in growing our community and driving product innovation as we work to reach one billion users. Together, we are focused on building the Web3 infrastructure and promoting financial freedom, empowering people to participate in a more open and fair financial system.”

Yi He says she is honored to step into the new role as co-CEO. She believes, “Together, we bring diverse perspectives and are confident in leading the future of the industry during this pivotal time, as we responsibly expand our global presence and drive sustainable innovation with our users always at the center.”
