Stock Sales Fund Bitcoin Purchase
Strategy financed the acquisition using proceeds from at-the-market sales of its Class A common stock, MSTR, and its USD Cash reserve.
The company sold 140,872 MSTR common shares and used another $100,000 from its USD Cash reserve.
Strategy retained $18.79 billion of capacity under its common-stock sales program.
Meanwhile, the company spent approximately $193.1 million repurchasing STRC preferred shares and used $45.5 million from its USD Reserve to pay preferred-stock dividends.
Its board of directors also raised the digital credit securities repurchase authorization from $2 billion to $3 billion.
As of October 18, 2026, Strategy reported $4.83 billion in its USD Reserve and $447.3 million in USD Cash.
Saylor Outlines Digital Money Vision
The acquisition followed Executive Chairman Michael Saylor’s Sunday message, “We found room for more orange.”
At ParaFi Investor Day last week, Saylor described a proposed dollar-pegged, Bitcoin-backed stablecoin that he said could offer yields of 6% to 8%.
The Block earlier reported that MSCI’s new rules could exclude Strategy and other digital asset treasury companies from its indexes.
