Jito’s JTX Targets Fall Mobile App Launch, Eyes Perpetual Futures This Winter

Jito’s JTX plans to launch a mobile app this fall and could integrate perpetual futures later this winter.

Jito’s JTX plans to launch a mobile app this fall and could integrate perpetual futures later this winter, Jito Foundation President Brian Smith told The Block on Wednesday.

Speaking at Digital Asset Summit 2026 Asia, Smith said an equities feature is also expected within two weeks.

The roadmap builds on the Solana-based trading app launched in July, which already included tokenized equities and ETFs alongside spot crypto trading.

Spot Trading Remains the Priority

Despite plans to add perpetual futures, JTX is concentrating its development work on spot trading.

“We definitely expect to integrate perps, maybe later this winter,” said Smith. “But we think there’s so much room for us to differentiate on spot features that that is where we’re spending our time right now.”

The winter timeframe remains tentative. Smith’s comments outlined a development target rather than a confirmed launch date for perpetual futures.

JTX launched with spot trading for cbBTC, SOL, HYPE, and memecoins. It is a self-custodial platform that lets users control their assets while accessing on-chain markets.

At launch, JTX said it charges a fee on each trade, with 80% of its trading revenue allocated to the Jito DAO for JTO token buybacks and burns. The remaining 20% is distributed to referrers.

On-chain Discovery Feature in Development

Smith also said that JTX is developing an in-app discovery feature. The team has two full-time data scientists who are mining on-chain data to support the product.

When asked about trading volumes since launch, Smith did not disclose figures, pointing instead to product velocity.

“Looking at the app when it launched in July versus what it is now, like two months later, it has just improved so much in the UX,” said Smith.

Smith also framed JTX as a “permissionless Robinhood” built for longer hold times and competitive fees.

He acknowledged that Solana still needs to improve its perpetual futures offerings, while crediting Hyperliquid for attracting centralized-exchange traders to on-chain markets.

For JTX, the focus remains on expanding spot features, improving discovery, and bringing its trading platform to mobile.
