Gemini Expands EU Offering with ETH and SOL Staking
Crypto exchange Gemini, founded by Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, has broadened its services for European Union (EU) customers. The cryptocurrency exchange is introducing staking for ether (ETH) and Solana (SOL) alongside perpetual futures contracts. The announcement came on Friday following the firm’s successful registration under the EU’s new Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).

Through Gemini Staking, customers can now earn rewards on ETH and SOL holdings without any minimum balance requirement. According to the exchange, staking rewards will vary for ETH, while SOL offers returns of up to 6% annually. The move fits with Gemini's objective to offer crypto products that are easy to use and make money in a safe environment.
The company recently announced Gemini Perpetuals, a derivatives product that is priced in USDC. These contracts don't have an end date and can be leveraged up to 100 times. They are legal under the company's MiFID II license. Gemini Exchange wants to increase the number of European investors who want more advanced tools for controlling risk and exposure by getting into derivatives trading.
The expansion comes after Gemini changed its structure to become a Malta-based company in order to meet MiCA standards. This shows how important Europe is as a growing opportunity. “We’re on a mission to democratise access to alternative, risk-managed financial instruments,” said Mark Jennings, Gemini’s European CEO. “We’re one of the few European crypto exchanges to offer this diverse suite of products with an intuitive, secure platform,” he added.
Jennings also stated that Europe remains a “strategic focus” for the exchange, which continues to roll out new services across the region. Earlier this year, Gemini extended its staking program to the U.K., allowing customers there to earn directly on ETH and SOL.
With staking and derivatives now live in the EU, Gemini is positioning itself as a key competitor among regulated exchanges seeking to bridge traditional finance and digital assets.
