Key Takeaways

  • Strive purchased 469 BTC at an average price of $77,954, bringing the firm’s treasury to 25,000 BTC.
  • SATA accounted for all capital raised in the update and exceeded $1 billion in notional outstanding.
  • Corporate treasury accumulation continues even as markets await the Clarity Act vote and Federal Reserve decision.

On September 14, Strive CEO Matt Cole posted on X that the company acquired 496 BTC for about $36.6 million, at an average cost of $77,954 per coin. The recent purchase has increased the firm’s total Bitcoin holdings to 25,000, valued at $1.9 billion, according to Bitcoin Treasuries.

SATA, Strive’s Variable Rate Series A perpetual Preferred Stock, funded 100% of the purchase, while its notional amount outstanding has exceeded $1 billion.

The announcement comes as traders watch two near-term events. The U.S. Senate is scheduled to take up the Clarity Act vote this week, and the Federal Reserve meets mid-week on interest rates. Both events could influence liquidity and risk appetite across digital assets.

SATA Supports Bitcoin Accumulation

Recent buying highlights SATA’s role in financing Strive’s growing Bitcoin treasury. The $1 billion figure reflects total notional preferred stock outstanding, not the amount raised in this individual purchase.

With preferred-stock financing, Strive raises capital without issuing common shares in that transaction. However, it adds dividend obligations and claims that rank ahead of common shareholders.

Previously, Strive cautioned that Bitcoin accumulation funded through preferred offerings increases those senior claims, which its Bitcoin growth metrics do not fully reflect.

Amplification Ratio Reaches 53.5%

Strive defines its amplification ratio as debt plus notional preferred stock outstanding, divided by the market value of its Bitcoin holdings.

Therefore, the reported 53.5 % ratio measures the size of those financial instruments relative to the Bitcoin treasury. This does not mean Strive earned a 53.5% return or increased its Bitcoin holdings by that percentage.

The purchase brings Strive to a round-number treasury milestone while expanding its reliance on preferred financing.

The amplification ratio could change as Bitcoin's value changes in the future, even without additional issuance.
