The online trading platform, which has more than 27 million funded accounts, announced this at its HOOD Summit in Houston.
The planned in-app agents will research markets, develop strategies, and place orders based on customers’ behalf.
Robinhood Brings AI Trading Agents Into Its App
AI agents differ from chatbots. A chatbot answers questions, while an AI agent takes actions on customers’ behalf, in this case buying and selling digital assets within defined limits the customers set.
Robinhood is bringing automated trading to its everyday investors.
The new interface is built on the agentic trading service introduced in May, which allowed customers to connect external AI tools to dedicated Robinhood accounts. Since then, over 150,000 customers have opened agentic trading accounts, Barron’s reported.
Customers will name their AI agent, open a separate account for it, pick an AI model from labs including OpenAI, and set their limits. OpenAI’s GPT-Luna model will be free to use until the end of 2026.
Each agent will operate through a separate account, limiting its access to the funds assigned to it.
“With safety and security at its core, we’re setting the standard for what agentic finance can be,” said Abhishek Fatehpuria, VP of Product Management at Robinhood. “Whether you’re an expert or are just getting started with AI, you’re at a disadvantage if you’re not using Robinhood.”
A forthcoming feature called Loops will let customers turn strategies into recurring instructions. For instance, an agent could check markets each morning or execute an overnight strategy when specific conditions are met. Users will be able to stop a Loop whenever they choose.
These controls do not eliminate the risk of trading losses.
Robinhood says AI Agents are coming soon to eligible U.S. customers, and Loops also remain an upcoming feature. The announcement does not mean every customer can deploy continuous automated strategies yet.
Robinhood Plans Up to 10x Leverage on Bitcoin and Ether Perpetuals
Robinhood is also bringing perpetual futures to eligible U.S. customers inside its app.
The planned derivatives offering will support Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP, Dogecoin (DOGE), Cardano (ADA), Chainlink (LINK), and Hyperliquid (HYPE). Bitcoin and Ether contracts allow up to 10x leverage, while contracts tied to the remaining six assets have a 3x limit.
Perpetual futures allow traders to take positions on rising or falling prices without a fixed expiration date. Leverage increases exposure relative to the margin deposited, magnifying potential losses as well as gains.
Robinhood will offer perpetual contracts through Bitstamp, the crypto exchange it acquired last year, and charge 0.01% per trade through the end of 2026.
“We’re making Robinhood the best place in the world for active traders by delivering tools once reserved for hedge funds, big banks, and quant firms,” said Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev.
The perpetual futures rollout is expected in the coming months for eligible U.S. customers.
