According to Michael Saylor, executive chairman of Strategy, Bitcoin (BTC) is set to have a price increase at the end of 2025. Saylor believes this expected rally will be backed by strong demand from institutional and corporate investors for new supply. He appeared in an interview where he stated that large exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and companies are consistently acquiring Bitcoin.

There is an imbalance between demand and supply, which is creating upward pressure on the price.

Michael Saylor Predicts an Upward Trend for BTC

River, a financial services company, backs this up by revealing that corporations are buying an average of 1,755 Bitcoin per day in 2025, and ETFs are buying an extra 1,430 Bitcoin every day. This daily demand of more than 3,185 Bitcoin is much higher than the 900 Bitcoin that miners make each day.

Despite a recent period of price drift and a massive $2 billion market liquidation, which analysts have blamed on technical factors rather than a weakening market, Saylor remains confident. He believes that as the market works through recent resistance and broader economic headwinds, Bitcoin will “move up smartly again.”

Saylor explained that Bitcoin-buying companies fall into two categories. The first includes operating companies that opt to hold Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset instead of issuing dividends or buybacks. He stated that this practice, followed by at least 145 companies, including Strategy, which holds over 638,000 BTC, strengthens their capital structure.

The second group includes “true treasury companies” that produce digital credit instruments by “capitalizing on Bitcoin.” Saylor compares the past to the present, saying that the world used to run on credit guaranteed by gold for hundreds of years. In the future, it will run on credit backed by digital gold. He thinks Bitcoin is the “ideal form of digital capital” to support this new financial landscape. This shows that there is a growing demand for these new financial tools in traditional capital markets.
