Kraken Parent Payward Launches 24/7 Settlement With Singapore Gulf Bank
Key Takeaways
- Payward has announced a strategic partnership with Singapore Gulf Bank (SGB) to provide 24/7 U.S. dollar settlement for selected institutional digital asset clients.
- Singapore Gulf Bank will also access digital asset liquidity through Kraken Prime.
- The rollout is limited to eligible jurisdictions, with further expansion planned.
Payward, the parent company of crypto exchange Kraken, has partnered with Singapore Gulf Bank (SGB) to offer 24/7 settlement for institutional digital asset clients in eligible markets across Asia and the Gulf.
Announced on October 05, 2026, Payward has integrated SGB’s real-time multi-currency clearing network, known as SGB Net. Initially, the service will support U.S. dollar transactions for selected institutional clients, with additional customers and currencies planned.

The integration allows eligible Singapore Gulf Bank clients to deposit funds with Payward and use them immediately, including on weekends, eliminating the traditional wait for banking hours.
“Exchanges, payment providers, OTC desks and fintechs all run into the same banking constraint. Settlement stops when the business day does, while their markets do not. SGB has built settlement infrastructure that reflects the future of digital asset banking and payments,” said Mark Greenberg, Chief Commercial Officer of Payward.
Kraken Prime Adds Liquidity Access
Singapore Gulf Bank will also use Kraken Prime, Payward’s institutional prime brokerage platform, as a liquidity source to price digital asset trades for its own customers.
“Access to liquidity is only useful if clients can move funds when they need to,” said Shawn Chan, Chief Executive Officer, SGB. “By connecting SGB Net with Payward and partnering with Kraken Prime, we are bringing settlement and liquidity closer together, giving clients more flexibility in how they fund and manage their digital asset activity.”
SGB is a fully licensed digital bank regulated by the Central Bank of Bahrain and backed by Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund, Mumtalakat, and Singapore’s Whampoa Group.
To support clients across borders and asset classes, SGB offers corporate and personal banking accounts to businesses and individuals worldwide. This combines multi-currency accounts, international payments, and remote account opening with access to digital asset services.
Expanding Institutional Settlement
SGB Net launched in May 2025 for digital asset businesses with growing operational needs. According to the latest announcement, the network has since scaled to process more than $20 billion in fiat transactions each month.
On 02 February 2026, SGB announced a separate network upgrade designed to bring fiat currencies and stablecoins into one regulated platform, simplifying institutional payments and treasury management.
For Payward, the partnership expands its banking infrastructure, connecting cash movements with digital asset trading.
Access remains limited to selected clients and jurisdictions, while broader currency coverage is planned for a later rollout.
