In a recent interview, Elon Musk’s father, Errol Musk, said that crypto is the future of finance. Errol, a South African engineer and pilot, appeared for an exclusive interview with BeInCrypto’s Editor-in-Chief Vladimir Arkhireysky and called the old model “finished.” He said, “I have no doubt that crypto will be the future of finance. The old model has run its course, it’s finished. The new form of money management is clearly crypto.”

He also revealed the Musk family’s massive crypto holdings.

Musk Family’s Massive Bitcoin Holdings

One of the most shocking things shared by Errol Musk was the insight into the family’s Bitcoin holdings. He revealed that his sons, Elon and Kimbal, hold 23,400 Bitcoin (BTC), worth approximately $1.6 billion. This disclosure highlights the Musk family’s significant exposure to Bitcoin, positioning them among notable players in the industry.

According to the latest data from BitcoinTreasuries, Elon Musk’s Tesla holds 11,509 BTC. This ranks Tesla as the 12^th highest publicly traded holder of BTC. On the other hand, SpaceX holds 8,285 BTC. The Musk family’s engagement with crypto goes beyond Bitcoin. Errol revealed that the family also received Solana (SOL) as payment and sold the asset at its peak. He revealed that the amount received was “a little more than a million rubles.”
