Elon Musk’s X has added links to cryptocurrency exchanges and stock brokerages through its U.S. Cashtag Partner Program, CoinDesk reported.

The feature will make it easier for U.S.-based users to view financial discussions and market data on X alongside external trading platforms.

Users in the U.S. can now tap supported Cashtags, such as $BTC or $TSLA, to view their live price charts and related posts. Selecting the “Trade” button lets them select one of X’s brokerage or crypto exchange partners to log in or sign up and complete the order.

Initial partners include Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, Interactive Brokers, and Moomoo, giving users access to crypto, stocks, and other traditional financial products, depending on the provider and the user’s eligibility.

X Connects Market Conversations with Trading

The feature does not turn X itself into a broker or crypto exchange.

After tapping “Trade,” users are redirected to the selected partner’s app or website, where they must log in or sign up and complete the transaction. Each transaction takes place outside X, with account requirements, execution, and custody arrangements determined by the selected service.

Cashtags on X have long helped users follow discussions about financial assets.

Earlier this year, X upgraded Cashtags with real-time prices and charts. The latest integration adds a direct route from those market-data pages to trading platforms.

“Cashtags close the gap between a ticker on the timeline and the market itself. When you post or tap a ticker, you’re taken right to the asset, where you have seamless access to the live chart, the conversation around it, and now the ability to trade with one of our brokerage partners,” X Product Engineering Lead Mridul Singhai said when the program was introduced.

The feature is particularly relevant to crypto because X remains one of the leading platforms for real-time information on changing market trends. Bitcoin, altcoins, and crypto companies are widely discussed through Cashtags, meaning users can now move from seeing a market development to accessing an exchange with fewer steps.

X Pushes Further into Financial Services

The Cashtag Partner Program advances Musk’s broader effort to turn the platform into an “everything app” that combines social media with payments and other financial services.

For crypto exchanges, the integration provides another distribution channel to reach traders where market discussions are already happening.

Access to individual assets and services depends on the selected provider and the user’s eligibility.
